Before Peugeot and Renault review their copy for the 208 GTi and Clio RS, the Ford Fiesta ST was regarded mostly as the benchmark of urban sports. With a chassis that is both rigorous and playful and full of mechanical character, bombinate the oval had the more good taste to be more affordable than most of its rivals. However, with the arrival of the 208 GTi Peugeot Sport and Clio RS Trophy, the Fiesta has fallen behind in pure performance while the French were overtaken by temperament.
Ford is not sat idly by; we can discover at the Geneva show a more powerful version of the Fiesta ST200 baptized. As his name suggests, it now develops 200 hp instead of 182 previously. And as the old version, it has an over boost offering up to 215 hp and 320 Nm at full load. The Fiesta has so many resources that the new Seat Ibiza Cupra regarding torque, despite its smaller displacement. Performance is naturally improved, with a 0 to 100 km / h in 6.7 s shot now.
The suspension and steering have also been optimized while the gear ratios have been shortened. Suffice to say that the level of pleasure provided by this new ST200 is expected to go up a notch. Besides its rate, if it is not communicated, should be fascinating regarding its benefits.
