The firm at the star apparently has left no area of freedom to its BMW competitor in the segment of SUV. After GLE coupe out there nearly a year, which reproduced the recipe genre pioneer X6, Mercedes today unveiled the GLC Coupe. We can of course not talk about that surprise rival X4 since the brand had already announced a concept last year.
The silhouette of this newcomer is very similar to that of big brother GLE, with a flowing roofline, playing the game of Russian dolls, as in the Munich competitor. Taking as a basis the GLC Coupe variant is also distinguished by an extended rear overhang of 7 cm, now with a length of 4.73 m. The height is however reduced to 1.60 m, 4 cm less than the GLCs but also the BMW X4.
The engine range is naturally similar to the GLC, with a choice of two diesel 4-cylinder 220 to 170 hp and 250 to 204 hp and a 211 hp petrol 250. The AMG variant with the 3.0 V6 twin-turbo 367 hp, which can shoot down the 0 to 100 km / h in under 5 seconds, will arrive in turn at the end of 2016. Like the hybrid version 350th 4MATIC, which will offer 320 hp for an autonomy of 30 km in all-electric mode. Finally, this new coupe variant intends to stand out from the GLC in behavior, with a standard sports chassis and a more direct steering.
